The Outdoor Birthday Party

Tuesday, May 27th, 2008

The Outdoor Birthday Party: what a relief from the worries about getting a trashed house from a winter kids birthday party, the headaches of figuring out engaging activities for the kids and putting together a memorable celebration for your birthday child. Just throw them out in the backyard and let it roll. Or go for that summer favorite: the ‘Pool - Pizza - Pinata’ party. In other words, the same party every other summer birthday parent is having, or having the kids do the same things they do every day during the summer. Not very memorable or special, is it? You can do MUCH better, just as easily.

Practically any birthday party games you might want can be done outdoors, although the reverse is definitely not true. And if the sky opens up on your party- you’d better have a back-up plan in place or you’ll be dealing with a very unhappy birthday child!

Your best summer birthday plan is to choose exciting games to keep the kids engaged in your party, but games that can be played outdoors OR inside if necessary. Choose outdoor birthday party games like the ones from Birthday Party Games Lady and you’ll have a unique and special party that’s still very easy to put together, inexpensive and not very time consuming to prepare.

Kids Birthday Party Tip: Make a Memory that REALLY Lasts!

Friday, May 2nd, 2008

My kids still remember their Birthday Party Games Lady parties- and they were a long time ago. But I wish I’d thought to make a journal for each of their parties as a true keepsake for them and for me. Sadly, I didn’t; but I just found this birthday party journal post and wanted to pass it along to my readers so they can make their memory truly last forever.

You can certainly use it as an organizer, but I think it’s real value is as a mini scrapbook of a certain age and of your celebration. The list of invitees and attendees may be quite a surprise looking back years later. Include pictures of all the kids, individually and in groups at the party. The idea of having each child write a message, just like in a guestbook, makes a wonderful keepsake (provided the kids are old enough to do it). After the guests have left, have the birthday child make an entry- how they felt about the party, how they feel about being a year older, whatever they want to say.

You’ll find a link on the Kids Birthday Party blog post to purchase a journal specifically designed for your child’s birthday party, and they’re reasonably priced. Or, just use a spiral notebook with the outer covers recovered with your birthday child’s artwork, a special photo from the party, a favorite poem, whatever strikes your fancy.

If your party is one of the 5 Birthday Party Games Lady party packages, both you and the birthday child will definitely want a special momento like a journal to keep forever. Each birthday only comes once.
