About

pic with girls   My name is Leslie Lyons, and that’s me with my two girls, a few years ago. I’m not quite as young anymore, and neither are they, but we won’t dwell on that.

It was their birthday parties that got me started in this business, and it’s been lots of fun and a great antidote for me during the years of teenage angst. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom since my oldest was 11 months old, and having

this business to nurture and grow has given me something other than them to focus on while still being home.

I’ve had my business on the web for 6 years now, and frankly it’s doing quite well and I’m very proud of that accomplishment. And in the process I’ve enjoyed the mental challenge of learning not just about websites, but many different aspects of on-line marketing. A far cry from my long ago years on Wall Street in finance, but change is good, right?.As more parents discover my website and use my parties, I’ve discovered more things they need to know and things I want to pass along - none of which works very well in the static confines of a website.

I started this blog as a way to communicate additional ideas that complement my party packages and “philosophize” about kids parties in general. When you spend as much time as I have over these 6 years focused on kids birthday parties and talking to parents and answering their questions, it becomes apparent that kids birthday parties is a much bigger subject than it seems.

It’s a full life and I wouldn’t have it any other way: part-time webpreneur, now a part-time blogger as well, full time Mom. Like many families, we seem to go in many different directions, often at the same time. We’ve spent so many weekends on the soccer field, and it’s been a great experience for both my girls and good fun for us too. Off season, we love the water and sailing and skiing/snowboarding in the winter (although I’ve traded my skis for a board as the black diamonds got too tough and the blues too easy). My garden seems to get bigger every year, but maybe I just get slower? I do want to find the time to get back to my piano and take lessons again- spend time on a different keyboard.

But not yet. I intend to launch a new blog in the next little while about my experiences building my web business.I love to write (and read, although I’ve managed to raise two kids who hate it!) and have accumulated a lot of knowledge that can help other web newcomers keep their money in their own pockets while they learn and grow. This too should be fun. Stay Tuned!
